I have decided the first chores to get proactive about are groceries and cooking. I find cooking relaxing and enjoyable when I'm not rushed, and since groceries go hand in hand, they were a logical first choice.
My end vision is to create weekly meal plans and only need to shop twice a week, but for now I'm going to grab groceries on the way home for that night's dinner and the next day's lunch.
Since I'm far from an accomplished chef and my wife and I like to eat healthy I am using recipes from Men's Health magazine's Short Order Cook website. The recipe's don't have too many ingredients or take too long to prepare.
Last night I made Chicken Curry in Roasted Acorn Squash. We both liked it, was really easy to make and only took 35-40 min. Also check out my review at Men's Health's parent company Rodale's recipe site - all of Rodale's different magazines' recipes are consolidated at The Healthy Recipe Finder.
